  1. Out of the 6 shortcuts, I think that Reciprocity, Consistency, and Liking have the most effect when it comes to getting the attention and gaining the trust of your target market. As the video says, let’s discuss each in turn. (1) Reciprocity. How your visitors will react to you, largely depends on what you have to give them. If you have content that is worthy enough of their time and attention, you are most likely to get appreciative remarks and/or add more to whatever you have already discussed/shown. (2) Consistency. It’s pretty much like dating. You have to be consistent in what you do to win over their hearts and minds. Refrain from taking too much time off in between posts. (3) Liking. Once you’ve won them over, it’s pretty much smooth sailing from here on out. It’s a given that you’ll be winning over those who are in the same wavelength as you. For everyone else, they’ll appreciate you more if you answer back to the comments they leave. Thank them for leaving a comment, agree to disagree, or you can both agree and go on your merry way.

  2. One of the most crucial skills in getting ahead of your career, or simply to get what you want, is the ability to persuade people -- ethically (No cons, people). Author and behavior expert Steve Martin says “Social norms can play an important role in getting customers, colleagues and businesses to do the things you'd like them to do—such as making a particular purchase or agreeing to your position over a deal.” In his studies, Mr. Martin made use of a number of strategies to influence people, and according to his research, he found out that tapping into a social norm to create consensus is a powerful tool to persuade the behavior of others. According to Mr.Martin, location and personalization are important for they create an even closer association with your customers and what you want them to imitate. Simply put, if you want your customers to do what you want, start with small groups, test messages, and see if there is some social norm that you can use to your advantage.
